Permar Receives Presidential Early Career Award and SPR Young Investigator Award

Sallie Permar, M.D., Ph.D., was named a recipient of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers in recognition of innovative research. It is the highest honor bestowed by the United States government. The White House listed Dr. Permar among 102 researchers who will receive the awards. Dr. Permar is an associate professor of pediatrics and an assistant professor in immunology, molecular genetics and microbiology.

Dr. Permar has also received the Young Investigator Award from the Society for Pediatric Research. Given since 1983, this award was designed to honor and recognize young physicians as they embark on a career in investigative pediatrics.
