I appreciate Michelle's knowledge, dedication, organization, problem-solving skills, willingness to step in when needed, and positive attitude. She is a manager of a couple people who work on a project I manage, but rolled up her sleeves and took on work outside her job description when we were short-staffed. She has been grace under fire when we have encountered problems, helped organize and document our retention policy (no small feat), and continually strives to help those in her charge succeed. She is also a really nice person. In her normal job capacity, she oversees the data governance for our department, a complicated task that requires a great deal of diplomacy. She is knowledgeable, always striving for the good of the department and Duke, and an asset to both.
