Dr. Matthew Case was on his Occupational Medicine rotation with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in Washington, DC, in early March when COVID-19 was making it's way to North Carolina. He returned to Durham in a moment's notice to help Dr. Carol Epling design the electronic system we use to guide our workflow to test symptomatic employees for COVID-19, take them out of work, monitor their symptoms, communicate their results, and return people safely back to work. He has tirelessly worked 7 days a week to help mass a team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and EMT's to serve our Duke employees in this capacity.
