Dr. Emily Sterrett is a newly minted medical director of the Pediatric Emergency Department (PED) and has been doing a great job. Then along came COVID-19! Her role has exploded in breadth and depth. She has led in the development of new clinical protocols for pediatric emergency airway management, care for pediatric bone marrow transplant patients, telehealth for pediatric psychiatry patients, assistance to an exciting biobanking research effort that is already under way. The list goes on and on. While also carrying her normal clinical load, she has taken on each day's new challenge with a smile on her face and a can-do attitude. We couldn't ask for a better leader!
