Duke Medical Students Celebrate Match Day 2014

Each year, fourth year medical students across the country view the third week of March as the start of their future. Match Day is a unified event organized by the National Resident Match Program. At 1 pm on March 21, medical students at Duke University School of Medicine opened their envelopes and learned where in the country they will begin their residency programs.

A total of 89 students participated in Match Day at Duke this year and are headed to some of the nation’s most prestigious programs.

Among them,

  • 24 are staying at Duke University
  • 16 are going to Harvard University programs at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, or Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
  • 8 are going to University of Pennsylvania or Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
  • 4 are going to University of California at San Francisco programs
  • 2 are going to John Hopkins University programs
