It is known that effective team communication leads to increased productivity and overall performance while reducing employee frustration and turnover. This is true for the research enterprise as well, however there are often challenges to achieving effective communication on research teams that must be overcome. Indeed, utilizing effective communication strategies can be difficult for research projects that may engage multiple teams with researchers spread out globally. Research projects may have multiple sites that transcend cultures, disciplines, legal/ethical systems, work standards or technology capabilities. And, most recently, in addition to all the above factors, effective communication needs to overcome the limitations of a global pandemic. We invited Duke Investigators, leaders and resource providers to share some of the best practices and resources that you need to know for effective internal research communication.
