An actively practicing cardiologist and committed teacher, Kiran Musunuru, MD, PhD, MPH, ML, MRA, is Barry J. Gertz Professor for Translational Research in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the genetics of heart disease and seeks to identify genetic factors that protect against disease and use them to develop new therapies. Rebecca Ahrens-Nicklas, MD, PhD, is an attending physician with the Metabolic Disease Program and the Division of Human Genetics at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and a Duke University alumna.
