Speaker

Nanthia Suthana, PhD
Sponsored by the Ewald W. Busse, MD Lectureship Endowment Fund Nanthia Suthana is a Professor in Neurosurgery, Biomedical Engineering, and Neurobiology at Duke University. She completed her PhD and postdoctoral training at UCLA, where she later served as faculty before joining Duke. Her research focuses on understanding human brain dynamics during naturalistic, real-world behavior by integrating intracranial recordings, scalp EEG, and wearable technologies. Her work has revealed how neural activity supports memory, navigation, and emotion, and is driving the development of next-generation neurostimulation therapies for neurological and psychiatric disorders.
