Breast inflammation is a common and misunderstood challenge in lactation care. Come get equipped to recognize it, treat it and teach your patients prevention strategies! Perfect for providers, IBCLCs, nurses, midwives and bodywork practitioners looking to sharpen their skills. The session will be taught by Ellen Chetwynd, PhD, MPH, RN, IBCLC, and Jessica Luginbuhl, MPH, IBCLC.
About the series: This collaborative education series is brought to you in partnership by Duke Primary Care and Family Medicine - focusing on topics surrounding lactation and breastfeeding.
There will be a virtual session every other month from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. and then an in-person evening workshop on opposite months from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The virtual sessions will keep you up to date on evolving protocols and best practices, while the workshops will focus on practical skills - what to do, when to refer, and what patients can expect. We'll also tackle important topics like infant feeding during emergencies and how to best support families when it matters most.
