The Duke Transplant Advanced Practice Provider Bootcamp is a meeting for NP's and PA's in the field of solid organ transplantation. This intensive educational program is designed to facilitate the APP's role in the management of transplant patients. The event will provide updates on current protocols, introduce new and exciting topics in the transplant community, and discuss the projects that transplant APP's are involved in nation-wide. This virtual program is applicable to all individuals involved in the care of solid organ transplant recipients.
This course is designed primarily for nurse practitioners and physician assistants involved in the care of solid organ transplant recipients, however, is applicable to other providers - including, but not limited to - transplant coordinators and nurse clinicians, transplant physicians, transplant surgeons, and transplant pharmacists.
Solid organ transplantation is an ever-changing and complex specialty of medicine. The objectives of this program are to promote education on medical and surgical topics in heart, lung, and abdominal transplantation; explore the role of the APPs in the transplant community; and review ongoing quality improvement and research projects related to transplantation.
