Dr Robert W. Fernandez
Dr. Robert W. Fernandez will be discussing his journey from former undocumented immigrant to becoming the first neuroscientist in his family, to co-founding his science organization, Científico Latino, which has successfully helped hundreds of underrepresented students access higher education in STEM. Dr. Fernandez received his PhD in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University in the lab of Dr. Oliver Hobert. Dr. Fernandez has received many accolades for both his scientific and outreach work including being a PD Soros Fellow, Simon's Fellow, and one of Cell Mentor's 100 Inspiring Hispanic/Latinx Scientists in a America.
