Thoracic Masters
The Duke Center for Surgical Education and Innovation presents the 14th Annual Masters of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Conference sponsored by the Duke Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. The 14th Annual Duke Masters of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery brings together world-renowned surgeons who will share the latest advancements in minimally invasive thoracic surgery techniques through didactic and video-based presentations. For over 20 years, course director Dr. Thomas D'Amico has taught video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lobectomy at medical institutions all over the world. Dr. D'Amico was recently appointed to the Editorial Board of the Annals of Surgery. This activity is designed to meet the continuing education needs of thoracic surgeons, as well as others who may assist thoracic surgeons in practice. Although the curriculum focuses on the most challenging and complex procedures, fellows and residents in thoracic and surgical training programs have also benefited from this conference, as have physician assistants and other operative personnel. We remain hopeful that medical advances will help curb the COVID-19 pandemic so that we may gather in person this fall for our annual thoracic surgery conference. However, we anticipate continued travel and budget restrictions at hospitals and academic institutions, so we will provide a virtual component for those who wish to join us from home or abroad.
