Entering Mentoring: Research Mentor Training

March 27, 2026, 8:30am-4:30pm, onsite

This full-day training covers topics such as:

– Communication

– Aligning Expectations

– Assessing Understanding

– Professional Development

– Cultivating Ethical Behavior

– Mentoring Across Differences

And more

The course is adapted from the Entering Mentoring series developed by the University of Wisconsin. 

Who should attend? This training is open to faculty and senior postdocs in or entering mentoring roles. Material will be most applicable to those mentoring in research environments. 

Additional details: Participants should plan to attend the session in its entirety. The full-day training meets required mentor training expectations for faculty planning to work with graduate students. Credit will only be given for actual hours attended. RCR credit will be available upon completion of the entire session.
