Have you considered volunteering as a student representative within the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)? Let us know! We would love to feature your effort(s) and encourage OTD peers to have an active ‘voice’ within OT professional organizations.

Today, let’s meet Camryn "Cami" Wolff. Cami is running for the AOTA Assembly of Student Delegates (ASD) Representative Assembly (RA). Be sure to participate in the voting process when it goes live this month.

Hometown: Hendersonville, N.C.
Undergraduate Institution: Appalachian State University
Area of Study: Exercise Science
Post-Graduation Plan: Pursuing an OT career in older adults with a strong interest in neuro OT or low vision rehabilitation.

Q: Why are you running for this AOTA representative position?
A: I am running for the AOTA Assembly of Student Delegates (ASD) Representative Assembly (RA) Representative to contribute to the professional growth and expectations of the field of occupational therapy. I hope to give students a meaningful voice and a strong connection between the ASD and RA committees. This connection is essential to include budding practitioners in the standards set for OT practice in the U.S. and ensure that all student members in AOTA know about the developments occurring within the organization.

Q: What are you passionate about?
A: I am passionate about occupational therapy because of the intersection between health, well-being, and the activities we perform every day as humans. I enjoy learning and working with others to promote the connection between well-being and how we spend our time, no matter how trivial the task.

Q: Why did you choose the Duke OTD program?
A: Duke OTD shares the same values for holistic and progressive OT care that I find essential. I appreciate the support from the staff, faculty, and peers who have enormously contributed to my desire to seek leadership opportunities in OT.
