PAEA, CASPA Expand Fee Waiver

Share

On April 8, the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) and the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) announced they will be expanding their popular fee waiver program to cover more of the fees associated with applying to PA school.

At PAEA, we believe the cost of applying to PA programs should not be a barrier to becoming a PA. We understand that application costs can delay and deter applicants from submitting to fewer than the national average of 7.5 programs. Historically PAEA has only covered the initial submission fee ($179). We are pleased to announce the expansion of our Fee Waiver Program to cover the first and second designations ($235); applicants are responsible for any remaining funds associated with applying to three or more PA programs.

The Duke PA Program admissions team issued a statement saying, "The Duke PA Program and the admissions team are so excited that CASPA is removing a significant barrier to the PA education application process. As a mission-driven program, we strive to dismantle barriers that impede access to education, and this move by CASPA is so appreciated. With CASPA fee waivers covering two schools, they are making the process a bit less expensive and daunting. We are grateful for this change!"
