Our Thanks to Faculty and Students Involved in BIOTRAIN 720 in Fall 2022

To all students who took BIOTRAIN 720 this past Fall, you worked incredibly hard in both writing and reviewing proposals. We appreciate your diligence and commitment to enhancing your critical thinking and scientific writing skills!

OBGE is grateful to Co-Course Directors Carolyn Coyne, Doug Marchuk, and Beth Sullivan, as well as the faculty who devoted 18+ contact hours by serving as study section chairs: Brigid Hogan (Cell, Molecular, Stem Cell, and Developmental Biology), Micah Luftig and John Rawls (Virology and Bacteriology), Carolyn Coyne and Jorn Coers (Infectious Disease and Immunology), Steve Lisberger and Jeremy Kay (Neurobiology), Andy West and Xiao-Fan Wang (Pharmacology and Cancer Biology), Doug Marchuk (Genetics and Genomics), and Meira Epplein (Population Health Sciences).

For Fall 2022, 50 faculty participated as lecturers, guest reviewers, study section chairs, and/or co-course directors. Without faculty participation, this course would not be possible. We especially acknowledge Cagla Eroglu (Cell Biology), Stacy Horner (Immunology), and Debby Silver (Molecular Genetics and Microbiology) who went above and beyond, serving as reviewers for two different study sections. We also thank the four current (and very busy) Basic Sciences Chairs who participated as either study section chair (Steve Lisberger) or faculty reviewers (Lesley Curtis, Scott Soderling, Raphael Valdivia). OBGE appreciates the extraordinary commitment of these faculty to the students and the academic mission of the course.
