Nominations are now open for the Duke Health Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award. Nominations will be accepted through October 20. The award honors the life and legacy of Dr. King, recognizing individuals or teams who have gone above and beyond in their selfless dedication to achieving Duke Health’s mission. Winners will be recognized at a special ceremony in January 2026.
The theme of the award, “It starts with me…” encapsulates the profound notion of personal empowerment and responsibility that each of us play in fostering positive change, belonging and equity as Duke Health team members. “It starts with me…” underscores the belief that positive transformation, whether within communities and organizations, begins with the actions, mindset and choices of each person.
