The Precision Genomics Collaboratory in partnership with the Center for Precision Health and the Sarnoff Foundation will offer a new 10-week summer program starting in May. The Duke Supporting Undergraduate Research Experiences (SURE) Program is designed for underrepresented undergraduate students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior years who are interested in exploring careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM). The program is sponsored by the American Heart Association and will run from May 20 – July 26.

The Duke SURE Program is open to underrepresented students from any college or university in the US who meets the eligibility requirements. Students will spend their summer at Duke working on a research project with a faculty mentor. At the end of the 10 weeks, students will present their research during a poster session.

SURE students will receive a $6,000 stipend, campus housing, and funds to attend the AHA Scientific Sessions in November 2024.

The deadline to apply is February 15.
