Lunchtime Networking Event in RTP on May 18
Please join us for this month's NGS IEG seminar to welcome two speakers, Dr. Upendra Kumar Devisetty (Head of Data Science) and Dr. Krishna Sridharan (Senior Director, Data Science and Analytics) from Greenlight Biosciences Inc. NGS provides an excellent networking opportunity for students interested in joining the private sector after graduation. We gather industry leaders from the RTP area to share, discuss and review their new technologies, research, and big-data platforms in a casual environment with lunch provided. Our guests will discuss how Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) has revolutionized research and product development across various life science domains, with a significant impact on commercial scientific organizations. As an organization with a sophisticated platform to research, design, and manufacture RNA for sustainable and safe Plant, Human and Animal Health products, Greenlight Biosciences uses NGS in a broad set of applications. This talk will review the diverse landscape of NGS applications at Greenlight Biosciences, highlighting the importance of NGS in commercial scientific organizations such as theirs. They will explore the unique challenges of working with species that have varying levels of annotation and limited resources, and discuss the innovative technology and techniques that Greenlight Biosciences is using to overcome these challenges.

In-Spin Seeks Innovative Ideas
We are seeking proposals from outstanding final-year MD and/or PhD students, as well as postdoctoral researchers who will receive their advanced postgraduate degree within three years, and who have an interest in joining a top 10 pharmaceutical company.
Our partner invites young researchers to submit innovative ideas that push the boundaries of science in either of the following therapeutic areas:
- cardiovascular,
- renal & metabolic,
- respiratory & immunology,
- common infectious and rare diseases.
New innovative technologies to improve the development of novel therapeutics and treatment approaches are of interest as well.
Successful candidates will be awarded a fully funded postdoctoral position within the company R&D facility and will have access to expertise, compounds, novel tools and technologies, and the mentoring support they need to turn their ideas into reality. Contact Claire Rochat for more information.
