March 7: Celebrating Diversity – Cultural ADL/IADL Showcase

Join us on March 7 for an enriching participant-led event hosted by the Duke Chapter of Coalition Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD), where we celebrate the diverse array of cultural activities of everyday life. This interactive showcase will highlight the significance of culturally meaningful and instrumental daily living activities (ADL/IADL) in various communities worldwide. Participants are invited to click on the shared COTAD Cultural Diversity slideshow to add their contributions, share occupations that hold cultural significance, and foster understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity within our community. 

Event Highlights: 

  • Engage in discussions about the cultural significance of occupations. 
  • Explore how culture influences engagement in daily activities. 
  • Challenge stereotypes and misconceptions through real stories and experiences. 
  • Build connections and understanding among participants from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Learn from each other's cultural perspectives and traditions. 
  • Enjoy a supportive and inclusive community environment that celebrates diversity.
