On 3/22/23, Dr. Cynthia Kuhn, Professor of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology, spoke to new faculty about the processes and strategies to get promoted in the basic sciences. The seminar "Appointments, Promotion, and Tenure (APT) in the Basic Sciences" was part of SOM Academic New Faculty Orientation series.
Dr. Kuhn shared her experience of serving on APT committees and outlined the promotion process and requirements. Her insights helped illustrate what a strong dossier might look like to APT committees, and conversely, what might appear as red flags.
