Division Chief and Program Director, received the PAEA Article of the Year Award in October at the annual conference in San Diego, CA. The article is entitled, “Burnout, Personal, and Occupational Factors as Predictors of PA Faculty Intent to Leave After the COVID-19 Pandemic” and it was published in the Journal of PA Education in September 2024.

Assistant Professor in Family Medicine, has been named Director of Admissions.
Janelle Bludorn, MS, PA-C
Academic Coordinator and Assistant Professor, shared her work on practical, ethical, and evidence-informed integration of AI clinical tools into the Duke PA Program curriculum, highlighting best practices, active-learning strategies, and ability to translate to other educational programs. She presented at two international conferences, including the International Academy of Physician Assistant Educators in Pretoria, South Africa (pictured). She also presented the session virtually for the International Association of Medical Science Educators.
Suzanne Hallquist, MSPH, MHS, PA-C
Instructional Specialist and Assistant Professor, was awarded the Henry “Buddy” Lee Treadwell Award by the Class of 2025. The award was presented at the graduation ceremony by Estelle Kelty ('25) who praised Ms. Hallquist for her "rare ability to make even the most complex material feel approachable" and for her "empathetic approach which fosters confidence and growth" in students. She was also promoted to Assistant Professor.

Academic Coordinator, Assistant Professor, has published recent research related to her work.

Clinical Coordinator and Associate Professor, was recognized as a Distinguished Member of the Duke Academy for Health Professions Education and Academic Development (AHEAD) and was promoted to Professor in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health.
Jacquetta Melvin, MPH, PA-C
Director of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor in Family Medicine and Community Health, has been promoted to Associate Program Director.
Laura Okolie, DMSc, MBA, MHS, PA-C
Instructional Specialist, was recently promoted to Assistant Professor.
