Duke Physician Assistant Program Research Group Receives $50,000 from PAEA to Study the Onboarding of New PAs

The Duke Physician Assistant Program Research Group has received funding from the Physician Assistant Education Association to investigate best practices in onboarding new PAs. Recipients of the $50,000 2017-2018 PAEA Faculty-Generated Research Grant include:

  • Perri Morgan, Ph.D., PA-C, professor of community and family medicine, director of PA research (PI)
  • Mara Sanchez, MMS, PA-C, assistant professor of community and family medicine
  • Christine Everett, Ph.D., MPH, PA-C, associate professor of community and family medicine
  • Brandi Leach, Ph.D., research analyst

The project aims to inform the PA community and hiring organizations about the need for intentional and effective onboarding for new PAs and about the potential approaches to the onboarding process.
