Duke OTD Faculty Recognized at AOTA INSPIRE Conference

At the 2025 American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) INSPIRE Conference, Duke Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) faculty members were honored for their outstanding contributions. Their dedication to advancing occupational therapy through leadership, research, and mentorship was celebrated with prestigious awards, solidifying Duke’s reputation as a leader in the field.

AOTA Roster of Fellows Recognition

The AOTA Roster of Fellows, established in 1973, acknowledges occupational therapists who have demonstrated a lasting impact through their expertise, leadership, advocacy, and mentorship. This year, two distinguished Duke faculty members joined the esteemed ranks:

  • Dr. Antoine Bailliard, PhD, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, is a professor of Orthopaedic Surgery who is recognized for his significant contributions to occupational therapy research and education, particularly in mental health OT. His work has had a lasting impact on the field, shaping academic discourse and clinical practice.
  • Dr. Tomeico Faison, OTD, OTR/L, FAOTA – assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, entrepreneur, and advocate for increasing representation in occupational therapy. Dr. Faison’s leadership extends beyond academia as the CEO of Therapeutic Solutions and Low Vision Rehab Solutions, where she fosters opportunities for underserved communities.

As Duke OTD faculty and students continue to shape the future of occupational therapy, their dedication to excellence, advocacy, and research remains an inspiration to the profession.
