Duke OTD Faculty and Students Shine at NCOTA Fall Conference

Duke University’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate program students and faculty were strong contributors to this year’s North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association Fall Conference held November 3-5 at Rowan Cabarrus Community College.

Short Courses and Breakout Sessions

Peyton Gemmell led a short course session on her Customized Learning Project work,  An Occupational Perspective on Navigating Food-Related Occupations for Adults with ADHD.  It focused on the occupational impacts of ADHD on food-related occupations -  meal prepping, grocery shopping, cooking, eating, food storage, and clean up. OTD’s medical instructors, Carol Siebert, OTD, OT/L, FAOTA, and Valerie Fox, OTR/L, CPRP, led short courses and break-out sessions on mental health, diabetes in acute care settings, and delivering value in acute care settings.
