Duke DPT Leaders Elected as APTA NC Delegates
Congratulations to three outstanding members of the Duke Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) community on their recent election as Delegates for APTA North Carolina:
- Derek Clewley, PT, DPT, PhD, FAAOMPT, assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and associate director of the Center for Excellence in Manual and Manipulative Therapy
- Michael A. Schmidt, PT, DPT, MHA, director of Ambulatory Rehabilitation and Residency/Fellowship Programming
- Matt Harville, PT, DPT, faculty development resident
As Delegates, these leaders will represent the profession at the state and national levels, helping shape policy and advocacy efforts that strengthen the future of physical therapy. Their commitment to advancing practice and education reflects the core values of Duke DPT and the broader mission of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

The APTA House of Delegates serves as the association’s highest policy-making body, addressing issues that affect clinical practice, education, research, and advocacy.
