Duke doctor of physical therapy class of 2027 celebrates white coat ceremony

On June 5, 2026, 102 students from the Duke Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Class of 2027 gathered at Duke Chapel for their White Coat Ceremony — a milestone that marks the transition from classroom learning to hands-on clinical training. The event celebrated the students’ dedication and growth as they prepare to apply their academic knowledge in real-world healthcare settings.

Zachary Tally, PT, DPT, clinical education team lead for the Department of Rehabilitation Services at Duke University Health System, delivered the ceremony’s keynote address. Tally also serves as a coordinator of Duke’s Oncologic Physical Therapy Residency, as well as faculty mentor in both the oncologic and orthopaedic residency programs.

After the students received their white coats, the DPT class officers led their fellow students in the class oath.
