DPT White Coat Ceremony Set for June 6
We are set to send off the Class of 2024 to begin their final year of clinical experiences. To honor this milestone, the students will don their brand new white coats at a ceremony set for 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 6 at the Duke Chapel.
Michael Schmidt, PT, DPT, MHA, will be the featured speaker. Passionate about teaching and mentoring future physical therapy leaders, Schmidt is the director of ambulatory rehabilitation for the Duke University Health System and the director of residency and fellowship programming for Duke Health. He graduated from the DPT program in 2012 and completed the Duke Orthopaedic Residency and Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship program in 2013 and 2014 respectively. He earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2021. He is a board-certified orthopaedic clinical specialist, a board-certified geriatric clinical specialist, and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.
