
As president and vice dean, Dr. Barber oversees practice operations, strategy development and implementation throughout DHIP and supports DUHS as they deliver remarkable patient care, while fostering a clinical culture of exceptional physician and team member well-being, so that DHIP is an organization where people thrive and can continue to recruit and retain the very best. Working within the DUHS and SOM leadership team, Dr. Barber plays a critical role in further integration of the academic and clinical missions.
Dr. Barber served as the chair of the School of Medicine's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2017 until 2025. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and a master’s degree in Health Science in Clinical Research from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Duke University.
