Duke University’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program receives applications through OTCAS, the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service. Review the checklist below to ensure your application is complete.
Prepare
- Read the Vision, Mission, and program resources on the Duke OTD website
- Attend a Duke OTD Information Session
- Assess the fit between Duke OTD's program and your learning needs and professional goals
Essays
- Write and submit the OTCAS Essay (Personal Statement)
- Write and submit the Duke Essay
- Complete the Hardship Statement, if applicable
Prerequisite Knowledge Domains
- Review the instructions for the Prerequisite Knowledge Domains section of the application
- Watch the video clarifying the Prerequisite Knowledge Domains: View video
- Describe your preparation in each Prerequisite Knowledge Domain as instructed
Evaluation Letters
- Carefully review the Duke Evaluation Letter guidelines
- Identify evaluators who meet Duke's requirements: Academic, Work, and Character
- Send evaluation requests to your evaluators through OTCAS
- If you need to submit additional letters to meet our requirements, you may initiate that process using this form
After Your Application Is Verified in OTCAS
- Watch for email from Duke OTD regarding the Duke Application Fee
- Pay fee OR forward email verification of OTCAS fee waiver to OTD_admissions@duke.edu to receive the Duke application fee waiver
