Duke University’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program receives applications through OTCAS, the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service. Review the checklist below to ensure your application is complete.
Prepare
- Read the Vision, Mission, and program resources on the Duke OTD website
- Attend a Duke OTD Information Session
- Determine if Duke OTD is the right program for you
Essays
- Write and submit the OTCAS Essay (Personal Statement)
- Write and submit the Duke supplemental essay
- Complete the Hardship Statement, if applicable
Prerequisite Knowledge Domains
- Review the instructions for the eight Prerequisite Knowledge Domains
- Watch the video clarifying the Prerequisite Knowledge Domains: View video
- Describe your preparation in each Prerequisite Knowledge Domain
Evaluation Letters
- Carefully review the Duke Evaluation Letter requirements
- Identify evaluators who meet Duke requirements: Academic, Supervisor, and Service/Community
- Send evaluation requests to each evaluator through OTCAS
- If needed to meet requirements, submit additional evaluation letters using this form
After Your Application Is Verified in OTCAS
- Pay the $50 Duke Application Fee OR email proof of an OTCAS fee waiver to OTD_admissions@duke.edu to receive the Duke application fee waiver
