The Career Committee promotes leadership, networking, mentorship, inclusion, and professional development for Hispanic/Latine staff at Duke School of Medicine. Key elements of our mission include facilitation of networking and mentorship, providing opportunities and resources to equip staff with the necessary knowledge, best practices and tools to succeed in their career path, and programming to support strategic career development and advancement.

Recognizing the supportive influence of mentorship

Her Garden: Women of Color Mentoring Initiative

Informed by feminist, womanist, and social justice principles and theory, Her Garden: WOC Mentoring Initiative strives to create a space for women of color to grow into their authentic selves. The program will provide content on identity development, leadership skills, and relationship building. In addition to the content, mentees will have an opportunity to connect with others, learn to exercise agency and creativity, and feel supported and empowered in all that they do.
