Early Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar

The Early Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar is a popular and highly interactive seminar providing women faculty with knowledge and skills necessary for successfully navigating a career in academic medicine and science. Through a combination of skill building leadership sessions, an academic promotion workshop, and the development of a written personal statement, the curriculum enables participants to visualize a path to leadership that communicates their achievements and successes in alignment with future goals. Participants will also have the opportunity to grow their network, reflect upon their learning, and consider practical strategies for applying new knowledge and skills. Areas of focus include:
- Expanding self-awareness and identifying personal leadership styles
- Improving communication and negotiation strategies
- Navigating gender dynamics in the workplace
- Increasing financial acumen
- Strategic career planning and achieving goals
- And, other leadership development topics necessary for skill development and career advancement.

Who Should Apply?
This seminar is designed for women physicians and scientists holding a faculty appointment at an AAMC member school of medicine, at the Assistant Professor level*, with a minimum of two years’ experience in their current faculty role (e.g. received faculty appointment prior to July 2018). *Instructors will be considered based upon experience.
