Duke professor Jeremy Kay presents "Wiring the retina: Cell-cell recognition in development and disease" on Zoom. Please email ladonna.huseman@duke.edu for connection details.
Abstract: Assembly of the nervous system requires remarkable precision in the cell-cell interactions among developing neurons and glia. Our lab uses the mouse retina to understand the mechanisms underlying these cell-cell recognition events and how they contribute to circuit function. Here I will describe a vast trove of new cell surface molecules we have recently discovered, and how they can help us understand key recognition events underlying retinal development and disease.
