Event Policies


Duke Health Development and Alumni Affairs (DHDAA) is committed to protecting your online privacy. DHDAA collects personally identifiable information such as names, postal addresses, email addresses, etc., when submitted by visitors for registration purposes. DHDAA does not make your personal information available to third parties for their marketing purposes without your consent.

Your personally identifiable information is kept secure. Only authorized employees, agents and contractors (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. All credit card information is collected and verified using Cybersource, a worldwide provider of secure electronic payment, credit card fraud management, and verification software and services. All ordering information is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

If any unauthorized use of your credit card occurs, simply notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures. Duke University will not be held liable for fraudulent credit card use.

Event Cancellation by Sponsor

Duke Development and Alumni Affairs (DHDAA) reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable.

If DHDAA cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund.

Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund. Registrants who do not want a refund may receive gift credit if they would like their event fees to transfer in this way. Please contact dukehealthevents@duke.edu with any questions regarding refunds.

Registration Cancellation by Participant

Unless specifically stated on registration materials, the deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 14 business days before the event.

Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a full refund.

Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend an event.

Cancellations will be accepted via phone, fax or e-mail, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline.

All refund requests must be made by the attendee or credit card holder.

Refund requests must include the name of the attendee and/or transaction number.

Refunds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment.

These above policies apply to all DHDAA Events unless otherwise noted in the corresponding event materials. Please read all individual event information thoroughly.
