The Minors in Lab Policy is a new policy, adopted by Duke, that establishes safeguards for children under the age of 18 who participate under the direction of faculty in activities within any Duke University laboratory. Compliance with the policy requires the completion of a Participation Agreement.

  • Safety Expectations - in order to minimize potential exposures to hazardous materials and/or animals, the Duke University Safety Committee and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee have additional requirements related to the safety of minors as well as animal use guidelines
