Visiting Student Program
Registrar
The Visiting Medical Student Program enriches both the Duke University School of Medicine and visiting medical students.  Applicants must be actively progressing toward a Doctor of Medicine degree at an LCME approved medical school, a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at an AOA approved Osteopathic medical school, or an international medical school with whom an affiliation agreement has been approved, and receive academic credit from the home medical school for work completed as a visiting medical student to Duke School of Medicine.

As of August 16, 2008, Duke University School of Medicine requires an affiliation agreement be in place with your home institution in order for you to participate, if approved, in the visiting medical student program. Please note that approval of the affiliation agreement is the controlling factor for participation in the visting medical student program. The DUSOM agreement template may be obtained by a home school representative by contacting Nikkia D. Squires, JD, in the Office of Clinical Contracts and Services. Contact information: nikkia.squires@duke.edu. (Interested students should not contact Ms. Squires, but may contact the visting medical student coordinator as noted below.)

Medical students interested in the program should contact the visiting medical student coordinator, Steven D Wilson, regarding the application process and/or academic requirements of the program. Mr. Wilson can provide information on approved affiliation agreements. Contact information: steven.wilson@duke.edu, 919-684-8042
