The Duke University Board of Trustees oversees the activities of the School of Medicine and the Duke University Medical Center. The Board's Medical Center Academic Affairs Committee makes recommendations on programs and policies of the Medical Center.

American Association of Medical Colleges

Duke is a member of the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), and is accredited by The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the nationally recognized accrediting authority for medical education programs leading to the M.D. degree in U.S. and Canadian medical schools.
